NEUMANN BCM 104
The BCM 104 is a dedicated microphone for broadcast, speaker and DJ radio, designed to convey emotions with Neumann perfection. Its optimized functional design features an integrated anti-pop screen and a shock-protected, wide diaphragm condenser capsule specially developed for speech. The transformerless circuitry ensures direct, noise-free sound. Its characteristic shape is functionally optimized for use with industry standard microphone arms. Thanks to its elastic support, the BCM 104 is well protected against structure-borne noise.

With your arms relaxed at your sides, measure around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, generally around the belly button. To ensure a comfortable fit, keep one finger between the measuring tape and your body.
YOU SPEAK: THE WORLD LISTENS
Broadcasting is a much more immediate way to reach listeners than studio recording. That's why Neumann decided to develop a microphone that specifically meets the needs and working conditions of radio DJs, announcers, journalists, talk show presenters and all those who guide us through the day with their stories, good vibes and the latest information.
The BCM 104 is designed to convey emotions with perfection. Its characteristic shape is functionally optimized for use with industry standard microphone arms. Thanks to the elastic support, the BCM 104 is well protected against structural noise. An integrated pop screen behind the head grille protects the capsule from air bursts and explosions. For improved hygiene, the head grille is easily unscrewed for quick cleaning
The BCM 104's large diaphragm condenser capsule captures every nuance of your voice without unwanted coloring or artifacts. The BCM 104's electronic circuitry has an extremely low background noise of only 7 dB-A and can withstand huge sound pressure levels of up to 138 dB without distortion. Its balanced output works without a transformer to ensure minimal buzz interference and high common mode rejection against foreign signals, e.g. from computer screens. A subsonic filter suppresses frequencies below 20 Hz. For close-up speech operation, an optional 100 Hz bass cut is available to compensate for the proximity effect. A second switch activates a -14 dB preattenuation to reduce the output level of the BCM 104 for use with equipment designed for dynamic microphones (which typically have much lower sensitivity than condenser microphones).
DESIGNED FOR THE HUMAN VOICE
The BCM 104 has a fixed cardioid pattern with excellent backward sound rejection. Its frequency response is very linear with a slight increase in presence around 4 kHz and a slight increase in treble above 10 kHz for better speech intelligibility. Thanks to its exceptional transient response, the BCM 104 captures every nuance of the human voice with amazing detail. Because of its wide frequency response, the BCM 104 can be used for much more than just vocal applications, for example, sung voices and a wide variety of instruments.
A brief description
The BCM 104 condenser microphone is a studio microphone with cardioid directional characteristic.
It features a low auto-noise level with impressive dynamic range, modern transformerless circuit technology, and transformerless playback.
extremely true sound, open and free of coloring.
The BCM 104 has been specially designed for close-up speech reproduction and is therefore equipped with an integrated pop screen and high pass filter.
switchable to compensate for the effect of proximity. One second reduces the sensitivity by 14 dB.
The header grille and retractable screen can be removed without the use of tools, allowing easy cleaning or replacement.
The microphone has a balanced microphone, without output transformer. The 3-pin XLR connector has the following pin assignments:
Pin 1: 0 V/ground, Pin 2: Modulation (+phase), Pin 3: Modulation (-phase).
Free field sensitivity is 22 mV/Pa = -33.1 dB re.
1 V/Pa. The microphone is powered by 48 V, 3.2 mA (IEC 1938). The BCM 104 is addressed from the front, marked with the Neumann logo.
The preferred mode of operation is to suspend the BCM 104 from a standard studio arm to arm.
The stand provided for this purpose has an integrated elastic suspension stand to isolate the microphone from structure-borne noise.
A threaded adapter to secure the different connector threads is included.
