Enhanced A-D and D-A conversion ensures clear, detailed recordings and playback at up to 24-bit / 192kHz for the perfect mix. Scarlett 18i20 features eight third-generation Scarlett mic preamps, Focusrite's finest.The optional Air mode recreates the Air effect of the original ISA mic preamp, giving your vocal or acoustic recordings a brighter, more airy sound. A pad on each mic preamp lets you accommodate higher-level signals without clipping. Two high-headroom instrument inputs on the front panel let you record guitars and basses without clipping or unwanted distortion. Speaker switching technology makes it easy to switch between pairs of monitors for different perspectives on the mix, and the new built-in talkback microphone lets you communicate with the artist at the touch of a button, helping you capture the perfect recording. A pair of virtual loopback inputs allows you to capture a stereo feed of any combination of hardware inputs and software playback channels - simplifying podcasting, live streaming and sampling. Scarlett 18i20 is designed for touring use and connects directly to your Mac or PC with a USB cable. It comes with all the software tools you need to get started: two complete digital audio workstations, Ableton Live Lite and Pro Tools First Focusrite Creative Pack; Softube's Time and Tone Bundle; Focusrite's Red Plug-in Suite; and your choice of four Addictive Keys from XLN Audio. In addition, Focusrite has partnered with Splice to offer third-generation interface owners a free 3-month Splice Sounds subscription by registering a new Splice account. Splice Sounds offers millions of high-quality, royalty-free snapshots, loops and presets with new releases daily from favorite producers, sound designers and artists.
